press the big black button on outside to turn off alarm
2. Open the control panel and on the inside of the door, press Pump 1 button. This will engage another pump to get waste water out quicker. It will turn off automatically when tank level is low enough
TLDR: don't have more than 1 major use of water running at the same time
There is a tank between the house and garage that acts as a staging area or buffer for wastewater before it is pumped up the hill into the septic field by the pump. The septic pump alarm goes off because the water inflow rate into the tank is more than the water outflow rate. This is typically caused by having multiple major water uses going on at the same time. For example, it's best not to run the clothes washer and the dishwasher at the same time.
Major Water Users (one at a time is best):
Dishwasher
Clothes Washer
Showers
Note: Toilets - sometimes a toilet flapper will get caught when flushing and it will be continuosly running. This adds load to the septic system. Lift the toilet tank lid and flip the chain off the flapper.
If there is a problem with the Primary Well you will need to shut off the Primary Well valve and switch over to the Secondary Well that is shared with the Fellmans next door.
